Absolutely beautiful chest with intricate detail. The paint shows light crazing from age. The back part of the lid appears to have cracked and been reglued at some point. The lid moves smoothly and closes solidly. The lock is fully functional with a key. Turn left firmly to lock. Turn right firmly to unlock. T he chest wobbles a bit on a hard smooth surface. Beautiful carvings and bulbous supports for the single under stretcher. We do have a selection of chairs available in our other items. Condition is very good, minor marks only. For your consideration is this antique Austrian meerschaum pipe, intricately carved to depict a bear hunting scene on a tree trunk. This smoked pipe dates to roughly the late 19th century. The pipe has been kept with its original case for the last 100+ years. The pipe and case are both in good condition overall for their age. Normal signs of use and wear. See photos for cosmetic condition. The stem is made of real amber, and features a very rare and unusual 14 karat gold band at the base. This piece would be the centerfold of any pipe collection–truly a one of a kind example by itself, but the 14 karat gold band puts it on an entirely different level.
