This a large, Vintage, barbotine Majolica fruit basket. Is a beautiful and striking table centerpiece. With life sized fruit (the pineapple is a bit smaller than than a real pineapple). It has a beautiful Tropical fruit motif consisting of pineapple, Dragon fruit, Banana’s, Grapes, apples, oranges, Lemons, apples, pears and Cherries. It is a very large Table Centerpiece piece. I have included photos in our dining room so show size comparison It is a very heavy piece weighing almost 18 pounds. There are some minor but typical small chips to the end of some of the leaves mostly around the bottom leaves. There is also a repair to one of the cherries that it vey hard to see (I have included photos) and a chip to one of the oranges, other than that it is in excellent condition. Features a large oval medallion against a brown field and ornate floral designs borrowed from a style steeped in a long European carpet. The Aubusson, Creuse commune of France is renowned for tapestry manufacture. Depended on engravings as a design source or the full-scale cartoons from which the low-warp tapestry-weavers worked. Figures were set against a conventional background of verdure, stylized foliage and vignettes of plants on which birds perch and from which issue glimpses of towers and towns. In this antique carpet, the botanical designs point to a tradition that at one point competed with the royal Gobelins tapestry manufacture. Even today, the center in Aubusson, under control of the French Ministry of Arts, is producing antique rugs. And rugs of the most exquisite quality. They are made from a herringbone twill weave cotton which was specifically chosen to echo our favourite type of vintage workwear. It can be difficult to find the perfect aged French work jacket as vintage sizing can vary a lot – so by creating an item with a pre-worn feel, we aim to bring you a jacket with a sense of character but also a predictable fit. These jackets are created in small batches so the shade of indigo may vary very slightly due to the natural washing technique that we use to enhance the stunning herringbone weave. 100% midweight cotton twill fabric, 280gsm/7 oz. Sturdy hard wearing construction. 3 useful pockets to the front. All buttons and rivets are installed by hand. This is an old antique early 1900s Edwardian unmarked petit point tapestry hand evening bag from high end estate. The bag is large at 10 1/4″ by 6 1/2″ with a 5 hang and has the same scene on both sides. Features an unmarked silver probably sterling clasp with marcasite stones and missing three faux pearls. I see one marcasite is missing and an odd tiny dab of old glue residue in a small area not worth noting. The bags tapestry sides may have some super light discoloration. Has old original lining. Exquisite 6 tiered vintage French crystal chandelier. Solid gilt brass embossed main ring with 7 splayed acanthus leaves. Carrying an upper tier of swagged crystal glass buttons and suspending facet cut crystal glass peardrops. Five further tiers of long faceted crystal glass icicle drops which suspend from silver rings in a waterfall fashion. A crystal glass faceted ball suspends at the base. Complete with original fancy brass chain and decorated ceiling rose canopy. Re wired with gold French silk covered three core flex and earthed. Working order and fully cleaned. All measurements are Approx. Overall height from top of ceiling fitting to the base of lowest crystal drop. 25 inches (63.50 cms). The width measures 13.5 inches (34.29 cms).
