Bodley Hand Painted Large Pink Roses & Raised Gold 9 Inch Plate Circa 1890s B Very pretty bone china plate. Decorated with large hand painted dark pink roses and raised gold leaves and thorns over an ivory background. Gold gilding along the edge. Has an impressed Bodley mark on the reverse. Also marked Trade Mark EJBD Burslem inside a retailer’s mark for Gilman Collamore & Co Union Square New York. This mark was used by Edwin James Drew Bodley between 1875 and 1890; however, Gilman Collamore was not at Union Square until 1890. Also has the pattern number 5 6820. Has some wear to the gilding and usage wear consistent with age, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. Measures approximately 9 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.

Vintage Hallmarked Large Round 21 Silver Plate W/ Floral & Leaf Decor. Use, with some signs of use and wear, but beautiful, and in very good condition. It sits stable and sturdy-not wobbly. Approximate Measurements: 21″ in diameter X 1 7/8″ Total height. It weighs approximately 8 pounds 3 Oz. I could not locate a maker stamp on it anywhere (except for the hallmarks). Please note we often use recycled boxes and packing materials. While it is all clean-especially the interior packing material; the packing paper is often new-sometimes it’s used. The boxes may show wear. Most of the time the boxes are used. Please forgive us in advance for this. We are expert packers, so your item will arrive safely unless the carriers do a number on it, which they do occasionally :, but to keep our costs down (which serendipitously is good for the environment too), we do this. Thank you in advance for understanding. Again, please accept my apologies for this statement. It’s only directed toward “the 1%”.

Due to the old age of the piece the frame has som minor chips and scratches, the glass is in perfect condition, the print has been in storage for a very long time and has never been exposed to the sun. There is no fading. Description: This remarkable, large folio fruit engraving is from George Brookshaw’s Pomona Britannica, or a Collection of the Most Esteemed Fruits at present cultivated in the country; together with the Blossoms and Leaves of such as are necessary to distinguish the various sorts from each other. The work featured originally hand-colored aquatint engravings created using the color printed stipple method. They were engraved by R. George Brookshaw published the work in 1806 in London. Dunthorne remarked on Brookshaw and his work as One of the eminent English artists of the early nineteenth century is George Brookshaw, who issued in 1812, Pomona Britannica. Ninety aquatint plates, printed in colour and on a scale comparable to Thornton’s Temple of Flora, depict the fruit grown around London and particularly in the royal gardens at Hampton Court. In Aquatint Engravings, Brookshaw’s Pomona Britannica is described by S. Prideaux as’one of the finest colour plate books in existence. In many of these plates the lovely mellow tones of the fruit glow against the dark or light brown backgrounds. Actual print 17 3/4″ by 22 1/2″. Total with frame 30 3/4″ x 34 3/4″. Artist or Maker: George Brookshaw. Medium: Large Folio, Originally Hand-colored Aquatint Engraving. Condition Report: Overall Good. There is some mat burn or fading from being framed previously.
